The B2 Connection
Non-Profits, Civic Groups, Government
When businesses, non-profits, and community leaders work together good things happen. Seeking the Win-Win-Win in everyday life creates opportunities to bring other along to create and share success with.
Example: The Bearfootin’ Art Walk is a great example of the Win-Win-Win philosophy. A sponsoring business, organization, or individual purchases the blank bear “canvas”, picks an artist, and chooses a local non-profit that will benefit from the auction. The finished bears are placed on Main Street to be admired and enjoyed by pedestrians all summer, with name-plates that highlight the artist/non-profit/sponsor, and then are auctioned off in October with half of the proceeds up to $3,000 being split between the selected non-profit and The Friends of Downtown non-profit. Any proceeds above $3,000 go straight to the non-profit. Everyone, including the community and our visitors all win.
Example: Last summer I wanted to conduct a mail campaign, Reliant Mailing Services needed to generate revenue to offset the slowdown of their sister companies (Mail Box & Pack and Reliant Data Services) due to the pandemic shutdown, and Thrive (non-profit that I serve on the board for) needed to reach new potential donors to make up for not being able to have fundraising events. Kyle gave me a special discount on the paper, printing, and services; and both of our logos were put on the bottom of the “big – ask” letter stating that Thrive did not have to pay for the mailer, so donors could feel confident that their donation would go straight to program.
